The great wall of China, 1200 km2 of solar panels

China is strongly committed to renewable energy, in practice photovoltaic solar panels that build large solar power plants.

China is one of the most polluted countries in the world. Aware of the need for a  change in energy , this by developing and installing a solar wall format from the largest solar parks in the world.

The Republic of China is a high energy fossil fuel nation  . For this reason, we are making a giant solar photovoltaic electrification plan.

Thanks to its geographical conditions, it enjoys the right conditions for solar electrification, with  desert areas and strong solar radiation in its territory.  In relation to the industrial sector, it has 60% of the market for the production of  solar panels

Tengger Desert Solar Park.

Capacity:  1500 Megawatts.

Location:  3.2% of land in the Tengger desert, autonomous region of Inner Mongolia.

The complex is managed by the  State Power Investment Corporation , one of the five largest energy companies in China.

Despite being one of the largest solar systems in the world, it has the following problems:

  • It was built in an area far from the cities and therefore the capacity factor is low. Much energy is lost throughout the transmission.
  • It does not work all year round.

Capacity:  850 Megawatts.

Número de paneles solares:  4 millones.

Location:  Tibetan Meseta de la Quinghai province, at the noreste de China.

The solar panels are also used to  heat , in ways that the trees grow their reclaimed land.

Phase I was complete in 2013 and phase II was completed in 2015, with a total construction cost of around  6 billion yuan  ($ 920.84 million).

It is estimated that by 2040 half of the energy production of the Asian nation will be supported by renewable sources.

The solar industry is a  thriving industry in China . Therefore, the government promotes its growth, despite the difficulties. In these moments, they face strong global protectionism and trade wars.
